Information Technology is study of the technology around us that shapes our every day lives. PCs, mobile phones, ATMs, the cloud- Information Technology is an in depth look at all of these and learning how to create the next and greatest software and hardwares.

InfoTech is Bachelor of Science degree in Ireland's top Insitute of Technology, Waterford Institute of Technology. InfoTech is a three year long degree with an option of a fourth. One semester is used as a flexible where the student will be given the chance to work for one of the many top computing companies.

Each year, the students skills and capabilities will grow. Students will develop skills in designing apps, databases, networks, websites and more.

Course Requirements


Leaving Cert: Minimum entry requirements for BSc in InfoTech

5 subjects: O6/H7

English or Irish: O6/H7

Mathematics: O6/H7


Fees and Costs


Course fees for BSc in InfoTech include a tuition fee. The state will pay the tuition fees for EU students who are eligible under the Free Fees Scheme. The annual student Contribution Fees are payable by the student. The Student Contribution Fee is €3,000 payable in one single installment or two €1,500 installments.

How to Apply


EU Applicants

Application to Year 1 of the degree programme is made directly through the Central Applications Office (CAO). Applications should apply online at www.cao.ie. The normal closing date for receipt of completed applications is 1st February of the year of entry.

Mature Applicants

Applicants should apply directly through the CAO, include a statement of interest and may be called for interview. Applicants are assessed on education, life and/or relevant experience as demonstrated in the CAO application and statement of interest.
